Christopher A. Ogryski, 34, Ubly, passed away January 28, 2010.
He was born on March 14, 1975 in Royal Oak to Alan and Cathleen (Galek) Ogrysik. He lived in Sterling Heights for 18 years. He married Jill on July 4, 1998 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.
Chris graduated from Fillmore Elemetary School and Sterling Heights High School. He attended Michigan State University.
He was employed at Service Merchandise and Thumb Tool. He was a manager for the Port Huron area 7-11 stores.
He was a parishioner of St. John Catholic church in Ubly since 1998.
Chris was a sports writer for the Huron County Press from 2002 to 2008 when he became editor. He belonged to the Thumb Sports Writers Association.
He was a member of the Huron County Democratic Party. He enjoyed photography, writing, pizza, poker, playing euchre with James Peters "JP" and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, both of Ubly; his parents; one sister;Father-in-law and mother-in-law; one brother-in-law; two nieces; two nephews; aunt and uncle; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alexander and Virginia Galek and Mike and Evelyn Ogryski and grandparents-in-law, Roy and Clara Peters and Cass and Virginia Kubacki.
Funeral mass was held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Burial will take place in the church cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.
Arrangements were handled by the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.
