Gail Marie Thorne, 57, a life-long resident of Alvin, Texas passed away August 15, 2006. She was born August 19, 1948 to Curtis and Betty (Frederickson) Blanton in San Antonio, Texas. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, had a generous heart, and was a school nurse for 17 years. She is survived by her husband, Jim Thorne of Alvin, Texas; daughter, Laurie Carona of Bryan, Texas; son, Richard Post of Richardson, Texas; and brother, Don Blanton of Houston, Texas. Gail is also survived by one grandchild. The visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 15186, Austin, Texas 78761.
