Dorothy Smith Willoughby Jacobs, 73, of the 100 block of Forsythe St., died May 16, 1996, in Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Jacobs, the retired owner and operator of Willoughby Upholstery Co., was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was associated with Memorial Spiritualist Church of Norfolk. Mrs. Jacobs was a member of the Elizabeth Chapter (NU)22, Order of the Eastern Star; the Quota Club; and the Traffic Club. She was a former executive assistant with Stone and Webster Co. and for a time served as a purchasing agent for DePaul Hospital.

Survivors include a stepson, Rob Jacobs of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Doris Kathryn Johnson of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a half-sister, Mrs. Ruth Smith of Chattanooga; a brother, Jack D. Hyde of Alachua, Fla.; and a nephew, Donald Hyde of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by Mr. Noah Moffett in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
