French Melwood Acors, 87, of Partlow died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at Mary Washington Hospital. He lived in Partlow all his life and was a member of Wallers Baptist Church. He was a carpenter in the Fredericksburg area and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, farming and helping others in the community.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Launia Blevins Acors; two daughters, Frances Mildred Crumpler and her husband, Edwin, and Linda Acors Lightfoot, all of Richmond; one son, Gilbert Melwood Acors and his wife, Mary, of Partlow; four grandchildren, Stacey Atkins and her husband, Walter, Sharon Lightfoot, Shawn Crumpler and his wife, Kelly, and Sara Acors; three great-grandchildren, Susan Atkins, Sydney Lightfoot and Hailey Barnes; his lifelong companion and pet, Roxie; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
