Born April 13, 1916, in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Hagerman) Smith.
Genevieve retired from Sylvania Shoe Manufacturing Company in McSherrystown. She was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Edgegrove, and the Over 50 Club at Sacred Heart Basilica.
Surviving are four children, Eugene F. Funk and wife, Joyce of Bonneauville, Stephen J. Funk and wife, Hilda of Gettysburg, Loretta Kay Gonsoski of Elkhart, Indiana, and Diane M. Ernst and husband, Tom of Hanover; eight grandchildren, Mark Gonsoski, Steven Gonsoski, Craig Gonsoski, Andrew Funk, Benjamin Funk, Sarah Funk, Teresa Eaton, and Kimberly Ernst; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Funk; a son-in-law, Donald Gonsoski; four brothers, Ligouri Smith, Beyanko Smith, Earl Smith, and Louis Smith; and five sisters, Sr. Theophilas Smith, Mary Sneeringer, Zita Bechtel, Florence Smith, and Bernadine Bolin.
Interment: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edgegrove.
