Paradise Post, Wednesday, October 5, 1994: "John Frederick. Paradise resident John Robert Frederick died Oct. 3, 1994, at Feather River Hospital in Paradise. He was 71. Mr. Frederick was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Modesto to Frances and John Frederick, but was raised from infancy in Yuba City. He was a college graduate and served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He married Gabrielle Lorraine Beaudoin Sept. 9, 1945, in Dracut, Mass. He retired from Pacific Bell as District Plant Manager after serving 34 years. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and ham radio. He also enjoyed all family activities. Mr. Frederick is survived by his wife Gabrielle Frederick of Paradise; sons John of Penn Valley, Calif, and Robert of Darville [sic; Danville, Ed.], Calif.; daughter Joan Cabral of Dayton; sister Doris Frederick Newton of Yuba City, and four grandchildren. A vigil service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas More Church. A Liturgy Mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church. Burial will follow the Mass in the Dayton Cemetery in the family plot. Chapel of the Pines Mortuary is handling the arrangements. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association in the care of the Pines Mortuary or donations can be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church."

He was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Modesto and was raised in Yuba city. Frederick attended college and served in the Nary from 1943-1946. On Sept. 9, 1945, he married Gabrielle Lorraine Beaudoin in Dracut, Mass. He worked for Pacific Bell for 34 years, retiring as district plant manager.
