Mrs. Hazel Parkhurst

CHANDLER — Services for Hazel E. Parkhurst, 71, were conducted today in Bueler Mortuary. Officiating was the Rev. Millard Wolfe of Gilbert Methodist Church.
Interment was in Mesa Cemetery. Members of Eastern Star officiated at the burial.
Mrs. Parkhurst died Wednesday in Chandler Community Hospital.
Born in Sun Prairie, Wis., she was a resident of Chandler for the past 50 years.
She and her late husband, Jacob L., lived on a farm between Gilbert and Chandler.
An active member of First Methodist Church in Gilbert, Mrs. Parkhurst was church pianist for 35 years.
She was also a member of the Chandler Women's Club and of the order of the Eastern Star and a past mother advisor for the Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
She received the Grand Cross of Color for her work with the Order of the Rainbow.
Mrs. Parkhurst was guardian musician of the International Order of Job's Daughters, and a member of the White Shrine in Mesa.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Alvin Lindsten, of Maverick, Mrs. Jack LeBarron of Tempe and Mrs. James Armstrong of Phoenix; a son, Capt. Kenneth Parkhurst, a doctor at Chanute Air Force Base Hospital; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
