Jerry William Cooper, 73, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, in Arlington. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First United Methodist Church Arlington, Arlington Urban Ministries or Arlington Life Shelter. Jerry was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Joplin, Mo. He graduated from the University of Missouri and Kent College of Law. Jerry retired from a career in public relations with Williams Companies of Tulsa, AMOCO, Standard Oil, AMAX Corporation, ASARCO and Grupo Mexico. Jerry was a 47-year Mason. He was past master of Humanities Masonic Lodge and past grand master of the Lodge of New York. He was a current member of Masonic Lodge 438, Arlington. He was active in the North Star Kiwanis Club, Arlington Teen Court where he was chair of the Teen Court Advisory Board, First United Methodist Church where he was chair of the church council and member of the adult Bible class, and acting chair of Arlington Alliance for Youth. Survivors: His wife, Royleen of Arlington; children, Cathy Roden Kleiner and husband, Eric, of Arlington, Jason Cooper and wife, Andi, of Lombard, Ill., Kim Jackson and husband, Paul, of Downers Grove, Ill.; stepdaughters, Brenda Armstrong and husband, Larry, of Arlington, Renee Powell and husband, Steve, of Fairview; grandchildren, Christopher Faulkner, Kellyn Roden, Keri Roden, Kassie Roden, Stephen Sequeira, Andrew Jackson, Patrick Jackson, TJ Cooper, Charlie Cooper, Elliott Cooper, Natalie Anderson, David Armstrong, Nicholas Powell, Brent Powell, Katherine Powell and Rebecca Powell; and four great-grandchildren.
