Funeral for Sgt. James Wingard Morgan Jr., 66, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral home with the Rev. Gene Lankford and the Rev. Bill Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Morgan died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 27, 1936, in Clyo, Ga., to James Wingard Morgan and Margaret Fleming Morgan. He was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church and retired from the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Morgan; two sons, James Wingard Morgan III and Robert Anthony Morgan, both of Decatur; three daughters, Margaret Eloise Bonjour of Elkton, Tenn., Lori Lynn Morgan of White Bluff, Tenn., and Tanya Ann Mullins of Nashville; one brother, Charles Anthony Morgan of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Colleen Scarbrough of Sarasota, Fla., and Mary Roman of Arcadia, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
