Sidney J.C. Lofton, Jr., 60, of Pensacola, FL died Saturday, January 31, 1998, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Lofton was born April 10, 1937, in Molino, FL and was a life long resident of Escambia County. He was a retired staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and was a long time member of the American Legion Post #340. He worked as a boiler-maker for many years. He was very active with the Northwest Florida Blood Center and was a past chairman of blood drives with American Legion Post #340.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Corley Lofton of Pensacola; daughter, Vonda Estes Luedtke (Chris) of Lakewood, CO; mother Martha W. Miller of Ensley; three brothers, Purvis D. Lofton (Fraca), Larry W. Lofton (Ellen), both of Ensley, FL, and Howard L. Lofton (Peggy) of Georgiana, AL; sister, Patricia Lofton Nelson (Maurice) of Pensacola; three grandsons, Cevin Hawkesworth of Cape Canaveral, FL, Scott Hawkesworth and Zack Hawkesworth, both of Lakewood, CO; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Faith Temple Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Julian Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery with full military hones.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida.
