Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 3 at the First United Church, Farnhamville with Pastor Crystal Oberheu officiating.
Burial will be in the Reading Township Cemetery, Farnhamville with military rites by the American Legion Post #510 of Farnhamville.
Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Board of Farnhamville; daughters, Vicki Board and friend John Summers of LuVerne and Kathy Renn and her husband Steve of Mason City; son, Lyle Board and his wife Jennifer of Gonzales, LA; grandchildren, Kody, Kalli Hunter, Everett, and Eldon; great-granddaughters, Kayla and Alivia; brothers, Roy and Carol Board of Rockwell City and Raymond Board of Farnhamville.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lyle and Verle (Vote) Board and an infant brother, Lyle LuVerne.
Ron E. Board was born on January 25, 1933 near Rinard. He served in the US Navy. Ron was united in marriage with Mary Ann Milberger on May 7, 1955 and together raised 3 children. He was a barber and a petroleum truck driver for FC Coop. Ron established and operated Ron's Ambulance Service for 41 years. He was a member of the Congregational UCC of First United Church, American Legion Post #510, Cedar Valley School Board, City Councilman for many years and mayor for 2 terms
