Her parents survived the Civil War, her father as a Confederate soldier, and her mother at home with 5 small children. Abba's mother died in 1870, and her father remarried in 1871. He had 11 children all together, and outlived three wives.
.....Abba married Samuel Joseph McCraw in 1872 in her home town in Cass County, Missouri. They set up housekeeping near Adrian, in Deer Creek township, Bates Co., Missouri, and lived there for the rest of their lives.
....They owned a farm alongside Samuel's parents, where they raised 5 sons.
