Longtime Alaska resident Adan Galindo, 82, of Anchorage died Sept. 8, 2010, at Providence Alaska Medical Center. A memorial Mass was held at Holy Cross Church, 2627 Lore Road Anchorage.
Adan was born June 26, 1928, in Durango, Mexico, to Abel and Elisa Galindo. Adan moved from Mexico to Santa Barbara, Calif., at the age of 14. In 1966, he moved to Alaska, where he worked for the Teamsters doing construction and bartending at the Captain Cook Hotel until he joined laborers union 341 and worked on the pipeline in Valdez. In 1976, he and his wife purchased Taco Loco Products, where they worked until their retirement in 2002. Adan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Galindo; sons, Adam (Marge) Galindo, Gilbert Galindo and George (Karen) Galindo, daughters, Anabel Galindo and Cindy (Brian) Hewitt and grandkids, Dalton, Michael, Trevor, Luke, Breana, Kelsea, Sydny and Lauren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Daybreak Adult Services, 9210 Jupiter Drive, Anchorage 99507.
