Henry Barker was the son of William N Barker. His father arrived in Texas between 1832 and 1834 with his wife Alitia Humble Barker. Henry's father served with Sam Houston in the Battle of San Jacinto by guarding Harrisburg. Henry participated in the Civil War with Sibley's Unit. Henry and his wife, Emily Caroline Dannelly Barker, cared for Alitia, Henry's mother, until her death. Brother John is also mentioned as caring for her via some of the documents belonging to her. She is buried nearby in this cemetery.
