In about 1876, Florence married David Crockett Nichols in Newton County, and they became the parents of six children: James Crockett; John Matthew; Joseph Columbus; Floyd Gray; Willie Ocalla; and Rosemary Adeline.
Florence died 29 March 1895 in Newton County and was buried in the Curtis Cemetery. (Family lore has it that Florence died after falling out of the back of a wagon.)
