A memorial service for Jerrell Elliott, 46 of Sugar Land was held Monday evening at First Methodist Church in Sugarland, with Dr. Carroll Fancher officiating.
Graveside services followed Tuesday afternoon at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa, Texas.

Mr. Elliott died Sunday, November 10, 1991 at a Sugarland, Texas hospital.

A professional musician and songwriter with a calling to reach people in a positive, creative way, he attended McMurry College in Abilene, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Music.

Upon college graduation, Mr. Elliott ws accepted into the Air Force Band in Washington D.C., and spent four years as a member of the Goodtimers Trio. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal for service to his country.

After military duty, he relocated to Houston and continued to perform in concerts and clubs with his partner from college and the Air Force, Clark Walter. They appeared under the name of The Elliott Walter Band. Together they produced 18 albums of music, most of which were written by Mr. Ellott.

He has also written and produced an album of Christian music, many commercials, and film projects.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of Sugarland, one daughter, Amy, and one son, Scott, both of Sugarland; parents, the Rev. Ray and Frances Elliott of Cleburne; one sister, Marsha Elliott of Garland; and one brother, Kenneth Elliott of Dallas.

Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox funeral Directors had charge of arrangements.
