Statesboro - Mr. C. Wayne Price, age 63, died Sunday morning at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility after a long battle with numerous complicated health conditions. He loved life and had a loving gentle spirit. He has a wonderful sense of humor that he showered all around him. Wayne was a devoted, loving and caring husband, son and father.

Born in Newport News, VA and graduated from Warwick County High School, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves serving as a Staff Sergeant from 1969 until 1971. Wayne worked at the Newport News Shipyard in Virginia before moving to Statesboro in the 1970's. While living in Statesboro he owned Prices Auto Parts and then was employed by Arrow Rentals Inc. at the Statesboro location as well as the Lyons location. He enjoyed his work, his fellow employees and especially meeting the customers. Due to his declining health he was forced into early retirement.

Like his father, he loved time spent in the Virginia mountain town of New Castle where many of his paternal relatives live. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Marshall Price. Wayne was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Hand Price of Statesboro; his mother, Pearl Price of Statesboro; a daughter, Anna Marie Price of Statesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Justin and Rose Haddock of Summerville, SC and Darren Jones of West Palm Beach, FL and two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Marilyn Price of Easley, SC and Ron and Ann Price of Statesboro. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Miracle officiating. Interment will be in the Eastside Cemetery.
