Wanda Cane slipped away quietly at home Friday, May 25, 2007.
She was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Mohall, N.D., to Shirley and Frances Hoffman. She moved with her family to Moses Lake at the age of 12 and lived in Washington for most of her life.
Wanda was an avid crafter and seamstress, who outfitted many brides and bridesmaids. Her doll creations were a constant source of challenge and enjoyment. She was passionate about playing bridge and the groups she played with. She also enjoyed traveling.
She was a longtime member of Ewartsville Grange and for many years enjoyed designing and working on the grain mosaic exhibits for the Whitman County Fair.
She is survived by her sister, Glenna Bingham; children, Cheri Yost, Carol Rae, Christine Cane, Curt Johnson, Clint Johnson; her stepchildren, Raymond Cane, Larry Cane, Karen Wright, and Ed Cane; also her grandchildren, Cory and Mark Bricken, Demian Lord, Ben and Clay Johnson, Heath, Jerrod, Sarah, Mercedes and Robbie Cane, and Winterdawn and Dean Wright.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray W. Cane; her parents, Shirley and Frances Hoffman; and brother, Royce Hoffman.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten by her family and friends.
A memorial will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations to Whitman Home Health and Hospice.
