Obituary
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008 at a 11:00 a.m. service in the First Pentecostal Church of Melville for Myrtle Inez Ansley, age 84, the former Myrtle Roddy, who passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:38 p.m. at her residence in Denham Springs.
Interment will be in the First Pentecostal Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Majors, pastor of First Pentecostal Church of Melville, will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Ansley was a native and lifelong resident of Melville and was also a lifelong and devoted member of the First Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed being a sitter for the elderly. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister who gave herself to all.

Survivors include one sister, Effie Mae Cocke and her husband, Thomas E., of Baldwin; three grandchildren, Nichole Carroll and her husband, Kenneth, of Denham Springs, Yvette Fore and her husband, Eric, of Prairieville, and Justin John Bieda, of Prairieville; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Bieda, Nadia Bieda, Annabell Bieda, Zachary Carroll, and Nicholas Carroll; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron Ansley; her parents, Henry William Roddy, and the former Eva Josephine Phillips; one son, Larry John Bieda; three brothers, Milton William Roddy, Floyd Henry Roddy, and Curtis Andrew Roddy; and one sister, Dovey Lee Landry.

Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Rd, Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.
