Iona Faye Biggs, 79, of East Peoria passed away at 2:05 a.m. Sunday morning, Jan. 16, 2011, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Gilbert Funeral home in Christopher with visitation two hours prior. She will be laid to rest in the Mulkeytown Cemetery in her above ground Masoleum.

She was born July 24, 1931, to Homer and Burless Essex in Christopher. She married Roy Howard Biggs Sr. on Feb. 22, 1951, in Christopher. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons; Stan (Linda) Biggs and Roy (Linda) Biggs both of Creve Coeur; five grandchildren; Ryan, Timothy, Matthew, Aly and Tyler; four step-grandchildren, Brian, Burt, Amber and Kerry; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Hannah; and five great-step-grandchildren, Brandon, Breana, Makayla, Matthew and Deagon. She also has one surviving sister, Martha Dennison of Christopher.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Creve Coeur for 35 years.
Iona's best friend was Irene Williams of Peoria. They worked together at K-Mart for many years. Irene and her husband Bob are good church-going people and would help anyone.
