Mrs. James W. Braddock, well known in Decatur, died suddenly of ptomaine poisoning in Los Angeles at 3:30 Friday afternoon. But little is known here of her illness beyond the brief message sent by her daughter, Eunice, Mrs. Max Nurd in Chicago. Mrs. Braddock has for several years been accustomed to go to the coast about Christmas and spend the winter with her son, Ralph. She did not
live with her son when she was on the coast but had a cottage of her own quite near him. She would return in the late spring and spend the summer with her daughter in Chicago. Mrs. Braddock was the widow of James W. Braddock, who was a Wabash engineer for many years. She had a wide circle of acquaintances In Decatur and was beloved by all who knew her. The body will be brought to Decatur for interment and will arrive sometime next week.
