Age 53, passed away in Lansing, September 7, 2009. He was born in Lansing, December 29, 1955, the son of Robert and Hilda (Getter) Elston. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1974. Bruce married Shirley Hablitzel on March 3, 1979 in Eaton Rapids. He worked as a welder most of his life. Bruce enjoyed working on cars, fishing,woodworking, watching the Red Wings and wrestling.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter Amber (Benjamin) Fritzler of Saginaw; son, Robert Elston of Eaton Rapids; brother, Herman (Shirley) Elston of Evart; sisters, Brenda Elston of Eaton Rapids, Linda (Gary) Brininstool of Eaton Rapids and Janice Elston of Brighton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Douglas Elston Sr., Jerry Wayne Elston.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids, MI 48827, with Pastor Daniel Hofmann officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
