Rural Huntsville Woman Dies Following Mishap

RUSSELLS POINT - A 37-year-old Rt. 1, Huntsville woman, Mrs. Genevieve M. Amey, died in Mary Rutan Hospital at 4:15 a.m. today just two hours after a one-car accident on Logan County Road 38, three-tenths of a mile east of here.

According to the Bellefontaine Post of the State Highway Patrol, Mrs. Amey, alone in the auto, was proceeding south, left the road and struck a utility pole and tree.

She managed to leave the car and walked to a neighbor's house. The neighbor, Willie H. Craft, took Mrs. Amey to her home. Shortly before 4, Mrs. Amey was brought to the hospital by her husband.

Cause of death, according to the patrol, is still undetermined. An autopsy was scheduled for 10 this morning.

Mrs. Amey is also survived by five children - Pamela, 16; Steven, 14; Kyle, 11; Kent, 7, and Katrina, 10.

The body will be taken to the Kennedy Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Investigation is also continuing into the cause of the accident.

HUNTSVILLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Genevieve (Jerry) Amey, 37, of Rt. 1, Huntsville, fatally injured in an auto accident early Friday, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hanson Funeral Home, Ada.

Rev. Leland Quay will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Mrs. Amey was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Hancock County, the daughter of Elihu S. and Chloe Stover Ream.

Surviving are her husband, Daniel; three daughters, Pamela, Kyle and Katrina, all at home; two sons, Steven and Kent, also at home; five sisters, Mrs. Walter (Margery) Jaisse of Bay City, Mich., Mrs. Otis (Opal) Anspach, Mrs. Alice Clark and Mrs. Forest (Verda) Pifer, all of Ada and Mrs. Jack (Hazel) Steward of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Friends may call at Hanson Funeral Home, Ada, after 3 p.m. today.
