Mrs. Eliza Nixon Ranck, 86, died in an Ogden hospital Monday of a heart ailment.
A daughter of Thomas and Lucy Norton Nixon, she was born De. 25, 1859. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life. She was a member of 18th L D S ward until two years ago and served as president of the Primary Assn. for five years, a teacher in the Relief Society for 69 years and was active in other L D S organizations and auxiliaries.
Mrs. Ranck was married to Robert Buyers Ranck Jan. 1, 1876. He died Nov, 19, 1907, in Salt Lake City. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and an ardent worker in the Salt Lake L D S temple 40 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Russell and Mrs. Ada Newman; three sons, Robert B. and Lyle e. Ranck, all of Salt Lake City, and Thomas A. Ranck, Silver Bow, Mont.; three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. A. W. Wilkinson, Ogden; Mrs. Lucy Stears, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Stella Horick, Long Beach; Thomas and Charles Nixon, Idaho Falls; William Nixon, Livingston, Wyo, and R. Ray Nixon, Ogden; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren,.
Interment will be in Elysian Burial Gardens.
