TURNER, Marian Elnora Arnold Andersen has fought the good fight and was received into the arms of her savior January 19, 2011. Marian was born July 7, 1935 in Raton, NM to Garland and Etta Gibson Arnold. She accepted Christ at the age of 8 and was baptized at Raton Christian Church in Raton, NM. She married William (Bill) Andersen Dec. 31, 1952. She graduated from Raton High School in 1953. They made their home in Amarillo before moving to Iowa Park, TX in 1959. Bill Andersen passed away April 1986. On Nov. 15, 1992 she married Malcolm Turner of Dallas.

Marian was a lifetime member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Marian served on many committees, and as deacon and elder and on the church board. Marian was very active in the Christian Women's Fellowship serving in all capacities of the board. She also served the Central area as CWF consultant. Marian was asked to serve as the first Iowa Park food pantry coordinator, being recognized in 1986 by the local Ministerial Alliance. Marian worked for Gibson's and Sears in Wichita Falls, Wichita Livestock auction barn, as an Independent Avon representative, and Tanner-Aulds Funeral home and lastly as a census worker in 1990. Marian volunteered at the Friendly Door to deliver Meals on Wheels and was also a 5 gallon blood donor.

She is survived by her loving husband Malcolm E. Turner, daughter Carrie Phillips, daughter Karen and husband Gary Barlow, son Bill Andersen and wife Marilyn, son Peter Turner and wife Evelyn, daughter Coleta Grubbs and husband Mike. 7 grand daughters, 4 grand sons, 8 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. She is also survived by two sisters Pearl Cunico of Raton, NM and Luetta and husband Donald Schuchhardt of Dupree, SD. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. (Bill) Andersen, her parents Garland & Etta Arnold, 3 brothers Ode, Garland Albert and Willard Arnold, 2 sisters Vallie Pauline Arnold and Sharon Weisler, and son-in-law David Phillips.

Services will be held at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Park, TX January 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, her favorite charities are Hospice of Wichita Falls, Friendly Door of Iowa Park, First United Methodist Church, Iowa Park, or Park Place Christian Church, Wichita Falls.

Serving as pall bearers will be her grandsons: Zane Coombes, Justin Phillips, Eric Justus, Kelly Fischer, Adrian Montellano, Robby Wilson, Honorary pallbearers Michael Grubbs, II, Peter Turner, Jr..
