LOONEY, Laura Louise Craft, 78, of Montvale, died Tuesday, February 22, 1994 in
a Roanoke Nursing Center. She was born June 2, 1915 in Craig County, daughter of
the late Ben Craft and Florence Crawford Craft. She was a member of Montvale
United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Otho Lee
Looney Sr. and a son, Rucker Price Looney. She is survived by four sons, Otho
Lee Looney Jr., Thaxton, Kenneth Arthur Looney and Larry Vincent Looney, both of
Montvale, Robert Madison Looney, Bedford; four daughters, Anna May Early,
Littleton, CO., Grace Agnes Carter, Montvale, Betty Ann McCurly, Salem, Sandra
Kay Overstreet, Stewartsville; a brother, Claude Craft, Roanoke; 26
grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral
services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with
the Rev. E. Lee Chattin and the Rev. Wayne Hannah officiating. Burial in
Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call anytime at Carder-Tharp
Funeral Home, Bedford, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday.
