NORFOLK - Carolyn Gordon Kellam, 63, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at her residence.
Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith Kellam. She was a member of Community Church of Norfolk.
Carolyn was a faithful employee of the U.S. government at Fleet & Industrial Supply Center. She retired after 30 years of service. She became a volunteer with the American Red Cross, logging many miles in her efforts to help others. She was awarded the Driver of the Year two years in a row, driving more than 40,000 miles each of those years.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Kay Kellam Spruell of Salisbury, Md.; three nieces, Kathryn Wilson and husband Timothy of Delmar, Del., Robin Sullivan and husband Kevin of Hamilton, Va., and Susan Clements and husband Mark of Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; and 11 great-nieces and -nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Community Church of Norfolk, 3728 Peterson St., Norfolk, by Pastor Tom Douros. Arrangements are in the care of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Carolyn to the American Red Cross, Mid-Atlantic Region, 611 West Brambleton Ave., Norfolk, VA 23510.
