Charles was the pharmacist inventor of Chapstick in 1880. He developed it in his kitchen with his wife Emma. They packaged it in little metal tins with a lid, and sold it locally. He sold the patent recipe for $5 in 1912. He was the inventor of the Fleets enema as well.
