George R. Barfield
St. Simons Island--George Roger Barfield, 78, died Nov. 8 at Gracemore Health Care in Brunswick.
He was a native of Ashburn and a resident of Glynn County since 1947. He retired from Georgia Power in 1983 as an appliance repairman with 40 years of service. He was an Army veteran and a Baptist.
Survivors: his wife, Dorothy W. Barfield of St. Simons Island; a daughter, Paula of St. Simons Island; a granddaughter Brianne of St. Simons Island; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
