Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The
services will be officiated by Reverend Hugh Wilson. Services are under the direction of Mayes Funeral Directors.
Dr. Phillips died May 15, 1998. Dr. Phillips was born October 17, 1920 in Tulsa, OK to Marion C. and Ruth Pexton Phillips Jr.
He graduated from Tulsa Clinton High School in Tulsa in 1938 and attended Tulsa University receiving his B.S. degree. In August of 1949 he moved to Norman where he attended Oklahoma University receiving his Master's and Ph.D. in Business. Dr. Phillips was the Director of the Graduate School of Business at Oklahoma University. He was employed at the University from 1950 until his retirement in
1988. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi and the First Christian Church of Norman.
Dr. Phillips served in the United States Army Reserves and in WWII and retired as a Lt. Col. in 1959. On November 27, 1942 he married Geraldine Yount in Tulsa, she preceded him in death in 1989.
