Jeannette Gleichman Jackson born in Kennewick, WA June 7, 1915 passed away May 3, 2009 in Boerne, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ret. Col. William C. Jackson and is survived by her daughter Jeannette (Jan) Jackson Naylor and husband Robert; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; daughter Patricia Jackson; son Michael Jackson and sister Peggy Gaylor.

Jeannette (Jonnie) was a grey lady during WWII and a member of the Eastern Star in San Antonio where she sewed special garments for the children at the Shriner's Hospital burn ward for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Methodist church before its closing and then a member of Asbury Methodist Church both in San Antonio, Texas. Her greatest joy was to be able to see her great grandchildren and spend time with them. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading until the very end of her life. As the wife of an Army officer she and her family traveled the world and she had wonderful stories to tell of her adventures.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 7 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery followed by a Memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of your choice.
