Catherine was born in St. Elizabeth, Missouri to John Struemph and Mary Bernadine Schwartze.

Catherine was married to William John Rehagen on May 5, 1924 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, Missouri, and they had a daughter, Rosaline.

Catherine died when she was only 38 years old of an intestinal obstruction, a complication of tuberculosis.

Mrs Katherine Rehagen of St Elizabeth Dies

Mrs. Katherine Rehagen, 37, of near St Elizabeth died at St Marys hospital here Thursday after an illness of eight days. Mrs Rehagen, well-known in the St Elizabeth community, was the wife of William Rehagen.

On Wednesday noon at about 1:15 o'clock, death invaded one of our homes of this community and took from our presence Catherine, the wife on Wm., and mother of Rosaline Rehagen. Mrs. Rehagen passed away at the St. Mary's Hospital at Jefferson City, her death being due to a lingering illness.

The deceased was born on December 25th, in the year of 1900. At the time of her death, June 7th, she was 38 years, 6 months and 12 days old. All was done that loving hands could do for her recovery. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Struemph, well known and retired farmers of this community. On May 21st, 1925, she was united in marriage to Wm. Rehagen of this community, where they had resided on their farm near here.

Besides her husband and daughter and parents, the deceased is mourned by one brother and two sisters, namely: Wm. Struemph; (Anna) Mrs. Herman Boeckman and Emma Struemph. One brother, Adolph, preceded her in death several years ago.

The funeral was held here Saturday morning, June 10, at 9 o'clock. The body was laid to rest in the St. Lawrence Cemetery of this place with Rev. Father H.J. Mayer officiating. Funeral was in charge of Adams & Casey, undertakers of Iberia. Pallbearers were Fritz Struemph, Hy Schwartz, Joe Struemph, Norbert Kemna, Lawrence Kemna and Wm. Kemna.
