Hi, Amy Viola LeBaron is my grandmothers oldest half sister. Their mother was Emma Geneva Johnson Vance. She was a plural wife of David LeBaron and Amy is their child. After the Mormon manifesto Emma divorced David and married James Vance Jr, who is my great grandfather.
Amy lived less than 2 years.
My grandmother, Orpha wrote, "A baby, Amy Viola was born to this marriage-passing away at 16 months of age. Adding to this sorrow was the termination of her temple marriage contract through the discontinuance of the law by the manifesto in 1890. Two hard blows in a row are never easy to handle, but Emma Genevea- being the humble sweet person she was, took all of her sorrows to the Lord on bended knee-accepting of his will in whatever way he answered. Her prayer was answered in a most beautiful way."
She was asked by a traveling musician couple to please adopt their new baby girl. Her name was Myrtle Ivy.
