Mr. Coonrod married Martha Jean Straub on Nov. 15, 1946, in Cheyenne.
He was a veteran of World War II in the United States Navy. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post No. 6, Wyoming State Historical Society, Laramie County Historical Society, and Scottish Society of Southeastern Wyoming.
Mr. Coonrod was a member of the Retired Firefighters Association of Wyoming and the Wyoming Wildlife Association.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a boilermaker, was assistant fire chief for the city of Cheyenne and a plans examiner for the city's Engineers Office.
Mr. Coonrod is survived by his wife, Martha Jean Coonrod of Cheyenne; a son, John Coonrod of La Mesa, Calif.; a daughter, Ann Enlow of Cheyenne; and three grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
