Kenneth D. Herbel, 63, died Feb. 6 at his home in Omaha. He was born on April 7, 1937, in Russell County, the son of Henry and Hulda Dick Herbel. A resident of Omaha, Neb., he was a laborer. Herbel was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include one brother, and two sisters. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson City Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Wagner officiating. Friends may call until 8 tonight at Foster Mortuary in Wilson. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the mortuary. Great Bend (Kan.) Tribune, Feb. 9, 2001.
