Mr. Gilbert Doughty "Sparky" Killmon, 85, husband of the late Lucille Downing Killmon and a lifelong resident of Hacks Neck, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at his residence.

Born on July 30, 1919 in Hacks Neck, Mr. Killmon was the son of the late Oswald Killmon and Dora Lee Trader Killmon. He was a former tree cutter with a logging company and a member of Hollies Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Mr. Killmon is survived by two sisters, Mary Wimbrow and Susie Killmon, both of Parksley; and several nieces and nephews including Lottie Bullard of Cape Charles and Rose Ann Moore of Hacks Neck. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lottie Trader and Doris Bullard; and three brothers, Ed Killmon, Purnell Killmon and Benjamin Killmon.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be conducted today, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m., from the graveside at the Hollies Baptist Church Cemetery in Keller. The Rev. Robert Howard will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.

Arrangements were made by the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home.
