WALTER S. HART IS DEAD IN HOLLYWOOD
Former Manager of Sylvan Heights Course Died Suddenly of Heart Attack
News of the sudden death of Walter S. "Hub" Hart, aged 56 years, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Hart, pioneer residents here was received in a telegram to Mrs. S. Cloud Bowman, of 5 Greenwood avenue last yesterday. Mr. Hart died at his home in Hollywood, Calif., following a heart attack.
Mr. Hart was former manager of Sylvan Heights golf course here and is more familiarly known to New Castle residents as the father of Lt. Robert Sterling, motion picture star, now in the U.S. Army Air Forces. In his younger days, he was prominent in athletics and played professional baseball, where he attained success as a catcher.
Several years ago, Mr. Hart's health became impaired, and with his family, he went to California to reside with his son, William S., then beginning his success as a film actor.
Mr. Hart is survived by his wife Mrs. Vera K. Hart, and three children, Helen, Nelie, and William S. all of Hollywood. He also leaves one brother, Robert B. Hart, of the Pulaski road.
He was a member of the New Castle Lodge No. 69, B.P.O.E., the first Masonic fraternity, and the First Christian church here.
Mr. Hart was a member of the New Castle Consistory, being a 32 degree Mason, and a member of the Alley Rats. He was born in New Castle on February 2, 1888, son of John C. and Ella McCombs Hart.
He was preceded in death by his parents,and three other brothers, John C. Hart Jr., Perry Hart, and William Hart.
The body will arrive here and will be taken to the Offutt funeral home, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.

HART FUNERAL TIME
Arrival of the body of Walter S. Hart, who died in Beverly Hills, Calif., will arrive here Sunday, May 14, and will be taken to the Offutt Funeral home.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening 7 to 9 o'clock. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. J.N. Rainey of the Central Christian church will have charge of services.
Interment will be private at the Graceland cemetery. Mr. Hart was a member of the First Christian church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie S. Hart.
