My source on this child is the book "Carter Pioneers of Provo Utah," which has a lot of errors. He is not included in the "Xerox copy of a typewritten copy of a handwritten copy of what purported to be an exact copy of 'Uncle Dominicus Carter's records.'" But neither is the child that Sophronia Babcock lost about the same time. 1849 was a hard time for keeping records, especially in what was then called Kanesville (Winter Quarters) where the child is said to have been born and died. The book's source on this child appears to be family group records submitted by the descendants of Mary Durfee to the author of the book. He is not found in the lists of deaths at the Winter Quarters Project website, but their lists are acknowledged to be incomplete.
