Eva Pearl Challacombe, 88, Topeka, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005.
She was born Nov 19, 1916, in Carbondale, the daughter of Melvern and Alice Mattigon Brown.
She married Harold M Challacombe on Dec 31, 1939, in Topeka. They shared more than 50 years together before he preceded her in death on Nov 11, 1992.
She was also preceded by a granddaughter.
She was a family caregiver and homemaker.
She had been a member of the First Assembly of God church, the Evangel Temple, and a current member of the River of Life Family church, where she had served as pianist.
Survivors include three sons, Ron and H Gene Challacombe, both of Topeka, and Bob Challacombe, Denver; two daughters, Lenetta K Spencer and Shirley A Coffman, both of Topeka; three sisters, Mildred Best, Topeka, and Mary Joiner and Evelyn Joiner, both of Detroit; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 30 at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment was at Scranton Cemetery in Scranton.
