Mrs. Rachel Hunt
Rachel Harsin was born in Shelby County, Indiana, August 16, 1834. She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1847. When sixteen years of age she united with the United Brethren church. On October 22, 1855, she was married to John Hunt. Mr. Hunt died about nine years ago. She then transferred her membership to the Methodist Protestant Church, of which she was a faithful member as long as that class remained at East Liberty. She passed away early Monday morning after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Mayberry, aged about 76 yeras. The funeral was held at the house at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning and interment was made in the Malvern Cemetery.
