She was born February 10, 1935 in Summer Shade, Kentucky to Clayton and Ruby (Bartley) Hurt. She married Donald Ray Houze in 1953, and they divorced. She married David L. Fickle on January 28, 1963,and he survives.
She was a graduate of Frankfort Senior High School. Mrs. Fickle was a homemaker and loved to cook.
Other survivors are six sons, Grover Fickle of Jefferson, Rick Houze of Frankfort, John Fickle of Kentucky, Steve Houze of Scircleville, David Houze of South Carolina, and Mark Houze of Frankfort; two daughters, Vicki Crick of Scircleville and Betty Fickle of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Virginia (Daniel) Laughner of Michigantown and Martha (Paul) Mangis of Frankfort; 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Hurt and a sister Anna Lee Crail.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.
