Mr. Sparks, who was born in Queen Anne's County on February 4, 1873, lived as a farmer in the county all his life until he retired, and later died at 91. His parents were Parrot and Mary Emerson Sparks and his wife was the late Rose M. Hand Sparks, who died in 1946.
Mr. Sparks is survived by a brother, P. Lee Sparks, of Chester, Pa., three sons, James H. Sparks, of Baltimore, Marion Sparks, of Wilmington, and Curtis E. Sparks, of Summit, N.J., a daughter, Mrs. Claude Williams, of Washington, D.C., four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Robert Helms of the Church Hill Methodist Church, and Mr. Sparks was buried in the Church Hill Cemetery.
