Daughter of William Kelly York and Mildred E. Workman Messer. Married to Eli Leslie Pauley. She died days after childbirth and the child died 13 days after that from pneumonia. Eli was in the military and was not around to take care of her or the baby. The baby was named Alma Faye also. Eli and Alma had just been married in May. There was some question as to whether the child was his.
