Mrs. Elsie S. Bellamy, 86, of Cairo died Friday evening at a Grand Island nursing home.

Services were Monday afternoon at Apfel Funeral Home in Cairo. The Rev. Bruce Matthews officiated. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Cairo.

Pallbearers were Rober Veeder, Jack Hadenfeldt, Amos Boshart Jr., Stuart Mieth, Gerald Luhn and Lawrence Stoeger. Apfel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bellamy was born April 1, 1893 at Boelus, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Koehler Whitefoot. She attended Boelus schools. When she was 18 she moved to Cairo and worked in a grocery store.

On Nov. 12, 1913, she married Bert H. Bellamy at Grand Island. They farmed near Cairo until May 1978 when they moved to a Grand Island nursing home.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Dewey Church of Ciro; two sons, Elmer and George, both of Cairo; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Gallagher of Grand Island, Edna Deeds of Grand Island, Fern Boesen of Boelus and Frieda Bondegard of Lodgepole, and two brothers, Herbert Whitefoot of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Delbert Whitefoot of Junction City, Kan.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers.
