Marie was born Thursday, September 2, 1886 in Tinn, Telemark, Norway. She and her family emigrated to the United States in 1889. They arrived in New York on Thursday, May 23, 1889.

Marie married twice. She married Earl Lieurance on Tuesday, July 14, 1903 in Seattle. Their son, Irving Monroe Lieurance, was born February 4, 1904. Marie filed for divorce on November 4, 1911.

Marie's second marriage was to Oscar Alfred Shervin. The marriage date is unknown.

Marie died at her home on Friday, December 23, 1938. Her funeral was held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27th at the Green Lake Funeral Home. Marie was cremated.
