Edmond Houston, a resident of Washburn, died there Saturday morning from a stroke of apoplexy. He was 66 years old. Mr. Houston was living at the home of his son. Funeral services were held at Washburn and burial was in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery. Marion Edwin Houston was born at Rockhouse, Ark., Oct. 22, 1879 and passed away at his home Saturday Morning, Sept. 9, 1944, aged 64 years, 10 months and 16 days. He is survived by his wife Emma, four sons, Loyd, Arthur, Harold of Washburn, Clyde of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Pelkenton, Washburn; three step-daughters, Mrs. Louise Schoechoff, Kansas City, mo.; Mrs. Helen Houston, Siloam Springs, Ark.; Mrs. Marian Martin, Glendale, Calif.; one step-son, Joe Forseille, Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Lenora Littlewood, St. Joe, Mo.; Mrs. Gertie Baker, Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Nettie Graham, San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. Margaret Gentry, Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, N. C. Houston, Ribon, Calif.; W. M. Houston, Salina, Kan.; 9 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie and two daughters, Lillian and Opal. He was a resident of Washburn for 32 years, and an employee of the Frisco Railroad for 30 years. Services were conducted at the Washburn church, Sept. 11, by Rev. Chas. Vanzandt and burial in the Washburn Prairie cemetery under direction of Koon Funeral Home.
