After James' first wife Mary Alice Koch (29 Feb - 3 Apr 1912) died, He married Sara M. C. (Hess) Scholl (1860 - 3 Apr 1917). He and Sara were married by Reverend R. F. Reed in Freemansburg, PA on 28 Apr 1914. Sarah was born in Bethlehem Township, Northampton County, PA and worked as a laundress. She had been married twice before she married James. Her first Husband died on 27 Jul 1806, and her second husband died on 6 Apr 1885. Her parents were Charles Hess (? - ?) and Mary Ann Ritter (? - ?). Charles was born in Lower Saucon Township, and Mary was born in Bethlehem Township. Mary Ann was living at the time James and Mary were married. There were no known children of James and Sara.
