ALLEN BOSTICK
SPRINGFIELD -- A. Allen Bostick of Springfield died April 23 of age-related causes. He was 88. No service is planned.

He was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Glasgow, Ky., to Henry and Nora Richey Bostick. He married Jessie Webb on Jan. 12, 1947 in Eugene. She died Aug. 16, 2002, after 54 years of marriage.

He graduated from Cottage Grove High school in 1939.

He served in the U. S. National Guard and later in the U. S. Army from 1943 to 1946.

He worked in heavy construction and bridge building.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Bostick-Whitney of Springfield, and Brenda Bostick-Johnson of Austin, Texas; a son, Donald of Springield; a brother, John of Junction City; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two granddaughters, Andrea Whitney and Shannon Butler, died previously.
