Florine Brown Bateman

MOORESVILLE - Florine Brown Bateman, 80, of Red Rose Lane, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville.

Born Feb. 15, 1930, in Texas, she was a daughter of the late Zelma and Ola McDaniel Brown. Mrs. Bateman was a member of Maranatha Worship Center, Concord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Milton Bateman; son Dennis Ray Bateman; sister Hazel Brooks; and brothers Kenneth and Douglas Brown.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Deese and husband Rick and Kay Helton and husband Joel; brother Jerry Brown and wife Nancy; sister Evelyn Souther and husband Benny; grandchildren Wendy Leazer, Robin Deese Baker, Jonathan Deese, April Helton and Matthew Helton; and great-grandchildren, Corey Leazer, Blake Leazer, Nicholas Deese, Austin Leazer, Parker Deese, Eli Deese and Patrick Baker.

Service: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 19 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Moores-ville, with Rev. Marvin Goodnight and Rev. Kelly Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, and at other times, at the home of granddaughter Wendy Leazer, Mooresville.

Memorials: May be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 872, Mooresville, NC 28115.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Mrs. Bateman.
