Appeal Democrat, July 22, 1948, Page 5: Meridian Native Dies In Colusa. Joseph W. Frye, 74, long-time Sutter county resident died yesterday in Colusa. Born in Meridian in 1874, he was the son of pioneer parents. His father, Christian Frye, landed in San Francisco in 1874 after sailing around Cape Horn and his mother came to California by covered wagon in 1852. He is survived by a son, Arthur Frye of Williams; a sister, Mrs. A. W. Graves of Yuba City, and two brothers, Charles, of Yuba City and Theodore of Santa Ana. Rosary will be said at 8 o'clock tonight at Sullivan Bros. Funeral home, Colusa and services will be held in the Colusa Catholic church at 9 a.m. Tomorrow.
